July 4th - Happy 4th July!

Morning!

The last couple of days have been a mixture...We spent the last day in Hollywood having a slow lunch in the 'Rainbow' district of West Hollywood, there was plenty of lycra and onesies in the shops around there but the food was awesome. I had my first Blue Cheese burger of the holiday. Then we had a looooong wait at LAX waiting for our flight to Vegas. We played a lot of Top Trumps and watched some baseball, but eventually we landed in Vegas about midnight, a couple of hours overdue.

We are staying at the Stratosphere hotel casino. It's not as good as the Aladdin, that we stayed at 3 years ago, but it does have a 130 story tower on it to make up for it. We have just ben up this morning to see the sights of Vegas. It is a big deserty expanse within a big valley. There is loads to do here. We decided to chicken out of doing the rollercoaster rides on top of the tower, firstly because we weren't allowed outside due to the lightning that was coming our way and secondly because I was way too chicken.

Yesterday was another day spent walking everywhere, we are on roughly 5 miles a day at the moment. We headed up to the other end of the strip to see the MGM Grand to see some lions, the Luxor (which is an amazing pyramid), the Excalibur, the Flamingo to see some penguins who have moved to Denver, the Imperial Palace, the Harrah and finally we gambled at the Stratosphere.

We've seen loads of strange things, the best of which was some guy dressed as Stevie Wonder who was a blackjack dealer. Last night we also went to the highly/strangely recommended Bite, a topless Vampire revue. It was actually really good, semi nekkid and good. It had dancing, acrobatics, magic and of course vampires. We did manage to see another afternoon show as well, Viva Las Vegas which wasn't so great. We seem to be a bad luck charm for comics at the moment, out of roughly 20 we have seen so far only 4 were any good. But the show was free and we aren't complaining.

It's been great to have a room of our own for a bit, especially with a TV, just watching the first half of Germany v Italy.
Right, we are off to try and book up a helicopter trip to the Grand Canyon and try and find some free wireless to send this blog. Will keep you up to date.

Laters

Pricey.

P.S. We have also met one stereotypical New Yorker who said "Get the F*** out of here!". I laughed at him and he got offended, though he was blind drunk...
